Our two most recent bulletins both covered safety concerns surrounding Aprotinin (Trasylol). Short CIRCUIT again proved an excellent communication tool as part of our complete communication strategy, reinforcing information which had initially been given directly to our clients by the relevant APHS teams.

Residents of Lismore and the surrounding area requiring Hospital, Oncology and Aged Care pharmacy have looked no further than Tom Gordon and his group of pharmacies for many years. Tom has been a good friend and respected colleague of APHS for many years and given the parallels in our respective areas of operation it was long identified that there were strategic benefits in bringing both parties together.

It is great to see this brought to fruition as Tom’s Hospital, Oncology and Aged Care facility operations have come under the management of APHS. Both parties believe that this development is a logical one to support the continued growth of the Lismore business. A new dedicated pharmacy site has been fitted out on the St Vincent’s Private Hospital campus and APHS are pleased to offer a warm welcome to staff transferring over.

Stacy La Hood (Hospital & Oncology) and Gill Strachan (Aged Care) have taken on the day to day management of their respective areas. Ellisha Vas has seen her existing National Oncology Support role expanded to also include the Area Manager responsibilities for the Gold Coast and Northern NSW.

APHS will benefit from Tom’s experience and knowledge for the rest of 2008 in a managerial capacity before he packs his fishing rods and heads off to enjoy the more relaxed pace of life as an APHS consultant.
