As well as our range of Pharmacy Service models, the division is an innovative contributor to both the needs of its clients and their clients. For example;

• the development of discharge support systems, which extend across the continuum of care, assist not only patients but act as an important information conduit between treating and referring practitioners, hospital staff and the hospital pharmacy teams. Careful management of patient’s pharmacy needs contribute to Government initiatives such as Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) and help reduce the risk of medication misadventure and the possibility of readmission to hospital.
• The ever increasing focus on cost management of pharmaceuticals in the hospital sector has also seen the division take a lead role in assisting client hospitals to improve cost management on a DRG basis and at the same time achieve best value through maximised use of the PBS.

APHS actively participates in ACHS Accreditation at all the hospital sites where services are provided.
