Managing Partner & Group CEO

A regional winner in the 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, Stuart’s career path saw him arrive at APHS after occupying senior managerial positions in both community and hospital pharmacy organisations.

After cutting his teeth in the early days of the Pharmore Group of pharmacies, joining as manager of the second of their eventual 29 stores, Stuart entered the private hospital and aged care pharmacy space when he was appointed Business Manager for one of Victoria’s largest Pharmacy Services company in 1997. He subsequently went on to play a foundation role with the Active Care Pharmacy Group, initially as a pharmacy proprietor and then as Group CEO. Stuart brings an energetic and enthusiastic approach to the many commercial and clinical opportunities available to APHS in the current healthcare market.

Outside of leading APHS, Stuart’s keen interest in nearly all things sporting means you might find him at the cricket, on the golf course or cheering on the resurgent Hawks in the AFL with his pride and joys, Sascha and Samuel in tow as he balances his hectic work and family lives.

Managing Partner APHS Packaging & Aged Care

Recently named a winner in the national Telstra Business Women’s Award (Commonwealth Bank Business Owner category), Cathie is primarily focussed on growing the APHS Packaging business. As Managing Partner, Cathie is responsible for delivering community pharmacies with an outsourced solution for their medication compliance packaging. It is this product that received an Australian Business Award in 2007 and continues to deliver exceptionally safe medication assistance for tens of thousands of Australians.

Graduating from her pharmacy degree in 1990, Cathie commenced her career in community pharmacy management. After being named 1998 Victorian Pharmacy Manager of the Year, and completing a post-graduate fellowship, Cathie was inspired to co-found the Active Care Pharmacy group with her husband Stuart. Its success led them to merge with the APHS Pharmacy Group, of which they took full ownership of the combined business in 2010.

Cathie continues to seek innovative solutions for the community pharmacy industry and aged care population, with the recent introduction of the Medido Monitored Compliance Device in Australia.
